Création de la Maison Gacha !

23 August - 30 September 2024

Ly Dumas, founder and president of the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation, along with Frédéric Dumas and Edouard Dumas, president of the Espace Culturel Gacha, are pleased to announce the creation of the Maison Gacha.

Maison Gacha is a hybrid cultural space in the heart of Paris. It houses a concept-store and a café, as well as an exhibition and lecture space, and a library open by appointment. It is dedicated to promoting and preserving know-how and handcrafts from Africa and beyond. Maison Gacha’s scope of action covers both tangible and intangible heritage. Maison Gacha curates a private collection of African art. Open to contemporaneity and respectful of traditions, it exhibits, publishes, creates and shares knowledge. Its missions are based on in situ and off-site cultural programming through exhibitions, conferences, artist residencies and workshops. The origin of Maison Gacha is rooted in the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation, located in Bangoulap, Cameroon.

Maison Gacha collaborates with craftspeople from a wide range of backgrounds. It develops, supports and encourages research and contemporary creation. These creators work with all types of materials: iron, wood, textiles, pearls and clay. Maison Gacha’s mission adheres to the principles of interculturality and the spread of knowledge.

The Maison Gacha will open its doors in Paris in 2025!
