Opened to the public on August 31, the exhibition presents, for the first time, a significant body of African textile art to the Latin-American public.

The Pinacoteca de São Paulo and Maison Gacha, based in Paris, present the exhibition "Between Spirit and Earth: Traditional African Textile Art," in collaboration with the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation, located in Bangoulap, Cameroon.

Ly Dumas, founder and president of the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation, along with Frédéric Dumas and Edouard Dumas, president of the Espace Culturel Gacha, are pleased to announce the creation of the Maison Gacha.

We are delighted to announce the renewal of our partnership with Les Amis du Chœur Madrigal du Cameroun! This collaboration follows on from the first song drive, which took place in Bangoulap in 2021. This year, the initiative will take place in July in the East, North and North-West regions of Cameroon.

On June 5, Ly Dumas, founder and president of the NGO Fondation Jean-Félicien Gacha, was awarded the medal of Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite Camerounais.

Espace Culturel Gacha, represented by Danilo Lovisi, art historian and cultural director of our two institutions, presented a paper entitled "Les routes du ndop" as part of the colloquium "Les patrimoines vagabonds / Wandering Heritage" organized by the Maison de la Recherche de l'Université Toulouse - Jean Jaurès, on November 23 and 24, 2023. The symposium focused on the mobile notion of heritage.

As part of the cooperation projects between the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation and Espace Culturel Gacha, the Jean-Félicien Gacha school in Manoré, founded in 2014, has received a donation of school supplies to ensure and reinforce the right to education.

The Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation, supported by Espace Culturel Gacha, will build a nursery school in the locality of Dogba, in the Maroua II district of northern Cameroon.

A captivating journey to the heart of the ndop royal fabric tradition, specially designed for the younger generation

The 8th edition of Vacances Utiles takes place from July 03 to August 25 at the Fondation Jean-Félicien Gacha. The Foundation has designed this program to enable around a hundred young people to benefit from educational and pedagogical activities during the summer (workshops in the Medumba, Fufuldé, French and English languages; cultural activities, poetry, plastic arts; play activities, sports...).

The Espace Culturel Gacha and the Fondation Jean-Félicien Gacha have joined forces to provide academic support. Clarisse Darnaude, a master's student at the Université Paris 1 - Panthéon Sorbonne, was welcomed by our two institutions to obtain the information she needed to write her dissertation on the valorization of Ndop fabric.

The Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation announces the launch of a unique and visionary project to meet the water needs of communities by installing machines that transform air into drinking water.

International Museum Day 2023, organized by ICOM (International Council of Museums) on the theme of the environment and community well-being, was celebrated at the Foundation with a series of activities that showcased local crafts and raised visitors' awareness of the importance of preserving our environment.

Alice Ifergan Rey is a performance artist who has been making masks for horses and riders for the past few years in order to create an aesthetic and relational continuity between the two beings. Alice chose the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation for her creative residency. She walked on the red earth of Bangoulap on March 16th in order to create a horse's mask that is partially beaded following the traditional beading technique used by the Foundation's artisans.

We were happy to be able to finally mark the launch of the book "NDOP" by Ly Dumas.
More than 2 years of work, field trips, readings and re-readings, direct contact with these indigo blue fabrics that carry the history of Cameroonian royalty.

Since 2002, the NGO Fondation Jean-Félicien Gacha has been working in Cameroon to encourage professional vocations and transmit skills and knowledge. The Foundation, together with its local partners, invests in education, vocational training and culture: providing children with access to schooling, training young people in trades and developing their capacities for action and talents.

And in France, the Espace Culturel Gacha association, carry out cultural and solidarity actions in conjunction with the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation, to which it provides financial, logistical and human support.

The Espace Culturel Gacha responded to the invitation of the Musée de la Toile de Jouy, which, for the Africa 2020 season, wanted to design an exhibition highlighting the diversity and know-how surrounding African textiles.

The Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation supports the initiative of the Madrigal Choir of Cameroon in setting up workshops for the creation of choral works and the transcription of Cameroonian heritage songs in order to make the oral heritage of Cameroon known throughout the world. 

The Gacha Cultural Space defines and frames programs under the sign of the sharing of knowledge and the promotion of traditional cultures.
