Every year since 2020, International Museum Day has supported a set of goals derived from the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. In 2023, the three goals in the spotlight are: global health and well-being, climate action and life on earth.
On this occasion, the public had access to the Foundation’s open-air museum and collection of ancient African art. The program kicked off with a conference on family well-being, followed by craft days. In collaboration with craftsmen and women from neighboring villages, the Foundation organized workshops in pottery, weaving, bamboo basketry and carpentry, sculpture on reclaimed wood, and fabric dyeing.
Visitors were able to discover these traditional crafts while learning how to use environmentally-friendly materials.
